Pat's Forecast for SE GA / SE SC
It will be fair to partly cloudy in the mornings and early afternoons with a moderate to good chance for showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening hours today through Saturday. It will become a bit more stable beginning Sunday and going into next week with rain chances dropping to just a small chance. Temperatures will be the upper 80s to lower 90s for the highs and low to mid 70s for the lows through Monday then will warm to the mid 90s for the rest of next week.
Tropical Weather:
There is one area of concern in the tropical Atlantic midway between the coast of Africa and the Windward Islands. The disturbance has a moderate potential of developing into a brief tropical depression before it encounters less favorable conditions for development and then is expected to degrade into an open trough near the Windward Islands over the weekend. The next names on the list are "Dolly" and "Edouard".
Near Total Lunar Eclipse Tonight:
The moon will be eclipsed tonight beginning at 11:15 PM reaching a maximum eclipse of 96% at 12:13 AM and then ending at 1:11 AM. There is a high probability of partial to total cloud cover for our region during the event.
